Your complaint helps investigate fraud and can lead to law enforcement action. FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity
theft and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel®, a secure, online database available to hundreds of civil
and criminal law enforcement agencies worldwide.
Consumer Sentinel, a consumer complaint database maintained by the U. S. Federal Trade Commission. Complaints entered into
our law enforcement database will be made available to certified government law enforcement agencies in participating countries.
This kind of information is used by government agencies to spot new trends, uncover new scams, and target suspect companies
and individuals for law enforcement actions. Submitting your complaint will help law enforcement agencies worldwide in our
effort to keep the Internet safe for you.
Directions to reporting to Federal Trade Commission:
1. Show header. This is how the Federal Trade Commission can interpret the code to find out information like the e-mail
pattern, its sending path, and sometimes what kind of computer sent the messsage.
2. Copy entire message especially including the header.
3. Press "Forward." This will show to Federal Trade Commission that this is an e-mail you were sent.
4. Forward Investment Scams to: uce@ftc.gov
5. Place "SPAM SCAM -" in front of forwarded e-mail title. This conveys to the Federal Trade Commission that
you know it is fraudulent
6. Erase "original message" - forwarded message.
7. Paste copied e-mail with header.
8. Send.
Now this is reported to the Federal Trade Commission. What they do is record it and then track the e-mail address - the
person who sent you the e-mail. This alieveates a lot of international fraud. You won't receive an e-mail back, but know
that you are now a Crime Fighter! :~)
